Add Elk Creek Resort to your list of good campgrounds near Sturgis. They prefer people with bikes only in the grounds...although off campsite parking for cars, trucks trailers & the like can be arranged for a fee (Yes!). Excellent facilities include lots of clean washrooms & showers with genuine hot water, large swimming pool, hot tub, laundromat, breakfast & bbq at lodge, convenience store, ice, loading ramp, firewood, ice, beer at store, Margarita wagon & sometimes a band...generally quiet after midnight, trees, 1/2 way between Sturgis & Rapid City (cops don't really bother this road at night...too busy with Glencoe & Deadwood routes I guess, excellent steakhouse just down the road(Elk Creek Steakhouse), good bars nearby for late nite drinks etc. They also have a back 40 campground thats a little more primitive but I hear very nice too. Hate to share the secret but...
